Pig: Diseases That Attack Pigs and Their Treatments (new) I Mshindo Media

Diseases that attack pigs have treatments, and they are as common as other animals, but there are diseases in pig farming that you must know about along with their treatments because they are the ones that occur most frequently.

ANAPHRODISIAS

When a pig fails to come into heat, this can be caused by low weight due to feeding them inadequate or nutrient-poor food, excess weight, mineral deficiencies, intestinal worms, chronic diseases.

LEPTOSPIROSIS

Symptoms of this disease are fever, diarrhea, bloody urine and miscarriage in the last stage and you can treat them with streptomycin before the act. And you can use antibiotics.

BRUCELLOSIS

This disease occurs in both males and females and causes symptoms such as hair loss, fever, paralysis of the legs, lameness, and early abortion. In females that are already giving birth, they give birth to weak babies. The vagina becomes red and the placenta also comes out. In males, there is swelling in the pig’s lungs. There is no cure for this disease, so pigs with this disease are slaughtered.

UTERINE PROLAPSE

This disease causes the uterus to protrude from the outside, and there is no cure for this disease, so the animal must be slaughtered.

MASTITIS

Bacterial causes inflammation of the udder and leads to changes in milk production. Symptoms of this disease are swollen udders that become hot and painful and also reduced milk production. You can treat it by massaging the nipples and not allowing the children to suck, remove all the milk from the udder after that use antibiotics. penicillin-streptomycin..

ATROPHIC RHINITIS (SLEEPING OF THE NOSE)

Symptoms of this disease in children include snoring, coughing, and mouth breathing. You can treat it with antibiotics, and hygiene is also important.

GREASY PIG DISEASE

This is a disease that causes patches, lesions on the skin, and the animal loses weight and can die. Prevent it by preventing pig fights by trimming their teeth, providing them with adequate food, cleanliness, and using antibiotics.

FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (FMD)

This is one of the diseases of pigs. This disease affects the lips and feet of pigs. It is a disease that attacks pigs frequently, especially if they are not well cared for. Foot and mouth disease weakens pigs very quickly, including weight loss.

Vaccination:  The vaccine is called FMD VACCINATION and is given every year.

Symptoms : The symptoms are that the pig’s legs and lips change and the pig also becomes weak.

Treatment:  This disease has no real cure. When pigs are attacked, what is done is to treat the opportunistic diseases using antibiotics.

This is foot-and-mouth disease and affects ungulates.

Symptoms include lameness, fever, and sores in the mouth and feet. You can treat it with antibiotics. Vaccination Disinfection No therapy (treatment)

ANTHRAX/kimeta

This is one of the diseases of pigs caused by bacteria known as Bacillus anthracis. These organisms remain viable for a long time and can remain alive in the soil for many years.

Treatment:  You can treat your pig with penicillin or oxytetracycline.

Anthrax is caused by feeding pigs and

its symptoms are

  • difficulty breathing,
  • kuvimba shingon,
  • fever and
  • passing bloody stools

and an animal that has died of anthrax bleeds from open areas of the body.

And you can treat it using antibiotics.

2. Swine flu

This disease spreads rapidly, if one person gets infected, others will also get infected and die.

Symptoms : The pig develops sores and blister-like lesions all over its body, and its mouth and ears change color and become red.

Vaccination:  There is no vaccine or cure for this disease. The only way to be safe when an outbreak occurs is to cull all the affected pigs and start over. You can cull them by burning them.

Important:  After culling the sick pigs, clean the shed and spray with Acon or Ectomin, and leave the shed open for a week before putting in other pigs as this is a viral disease.

3. Lung disease in pigs

This is one of the pig diseases that attacks the throat and lungs of pigs. This disease is caused by bacteria (secondary bacterial), excessive heat, dust and gases from harsh chemicals.

Symptoms:  Pigs are panting and have difficulty breathing.

Treatment:  Swine pneumonia is treated with antibiotics, along with keeping the animals in a clean environment, free from extreme cold or extreme heat.
