Chick Care Methods (new)

There are basic things in raising chickens. This raising differs between laying hens, local chickens and broilers in terms of food and general vaccinations.

PREPARATION

· The shed should be sturdy to avoid theft and nuisance animals such as squirrels, cats, dogs, hawks, and squirrels.

BEFORE THE CHICKENS ARRIVE

The coop should be kept dry for one week after cleaning with pesticides. The chicks you will be given should come from a breeder with a good history.

· Chicks can be easily affected by the environment, so it is important to be careful about air, light and temperature.

· Lighting and heating equipment are important and necessary in raising chicks.

· Make a circular aviary using a 60 cm long hard board and in the middle place a light bulb or charcoal and oil lamp; Provide enough light so that the chicks can see food and water.

· Put lime, then maranda and a layer of chilk paper or newspapers on top of the maranda.

· Five hours before the chicks arrive, turn on heat lamps or a charcoal stove to keep the chicks warm, the temperature should be 32-35 degrees Celsius.

· Ensure that the temperature is moderate.
    First week – 35°c
    Second week – 32°c
    Third week – 29°c
    Fourth week – 26°c

IMPORTANT

If the chicks are far away and tired, give them glucose or a little sugar in the water (a teaspoon of food for every liter of water tank).

RECEIVING CHICKENS

Quickly remove the chicks from the boxes and place them on the circle or hard board you have prepared and make sure you have a complete account.

· Remove the chicks from the glucose water and give them water to drink to those chicks that did not drink the water.

· After two hours, place the food in the containers, making sure there is 24-hour light and sufficient temperature.
