REDUCING DISEASE OUTBREAKS IN POULTRY (new) I Mshindo Media

Without wasting time, a suitable chicken coop should have the following:-

  • It should be surrounded by short walls so that it can protect them from the wind.
  • a roof should be put up to protect them from the rain.
  • The coop should have enough space for the chickens to walk around, drink water, eat food, lay eggs, etc.
  • The floor should be solid and not allow moisture and bad odors.

The shed should allow enough air to enter and exit, as well as enough light.
If you have a tin roof, make sure there are trees near the shed to facilitate air circulation because tin heats up a lot during the day.
*Do not allow the sun to penetrate into the shed during the day. You can place the long walls of the shed in the east-west direction.
*Put ashes inside the shed or use insecticides such as mite, siafu, mite, you can use Akheri powder, ultra vin, seven etc.
*The shed should have short walls with a depth of 1.8 meters.

REDUCING DISEASE OUTBREAKS

*Cover the floor with 5 cm wide strips of straw and spread them well in the barn.
Clean them regularly when they become dirty.
*Place trays in the barn to allow the droppings to drip down. The area where the droppings drip out of reach of the chickens often carries disease-causing germs.

Note,
*the recommended space for 4 to 6 chickens should start at one square meter.
This is for a hen house for adult chickens from two and a half months onwards, and for a hen house for raising chicks until another time. If you have more, please add it in the comments. Also, put your comments there
